Dr. Atabak Allaei is a double board-certified physician in Vascular & Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, a distinction that reflects advanced training in both diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive image-guided treatment. He serves as an attending physician at both Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills and UCI Medical Center, and is the Medical Director of the California Fibroid Center.

Recognized for his expertise in uterine fibroid embolization and adenomyosis embolization, Dr. Allaei is respected in the field for his advanced technical skill, careful patient selection, and ability to manage complex embolization cases. Patients travel from across the country to seek his care for minimally invasive alternatives to major surgery, hysterectomy, or prolonged recovery.

As a vascular and image-guided specialist, Dr. Allaei has extensive experience in minimally invasive treatments for complex vascular and gynecologic conditions. He has developed a specialized approach to treating fibroids and adenomyosis, combining precise imaging, advanced embolization techniques, and individualized post-procedure management to help patients achieve meaningful symptom improvement while preserving the uterus.

Dr. Allaei has performed more than 5,000 image-guided procedures and has broad experience treating conditions involving the uterus, pelvis, lungs, liver, kidneys, bowel, bladder, tumors, and vascular system. This extensive procedural background allows him to approach even complex embolization cases with a high level of judgment, technical confidence, and attention to patient safety.

Originally from San Diego, California, Dr. Allaei earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He later pursued cancer research before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York. He completed residency training in New York, followed by fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the prestigious Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Medical Center.
